CHICAGO, IL – Production Craft, a digital video production company, was announced as a winner at the 2015 Communicator Awards by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. With over 6000 entries received from around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring the creative excellence for communications professionals.

The winning entry was a video for Friends of Prentice, an organization advancing women’s health and working in partnership with Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Prentice Women’s Hospital. The video follows one woman’s journey through childbirth that resulted in her clinical death. With the collaboration among numerous teams at the hospital, the woman’s life is saved.

“We shared Stephanie’s story in a way that unraveled the pieces of her journey, so the viewer would feel like they were going through it with the family,” said Dawn Arnold, producer at Production Craft. “By telling her story this way we were able to engage viewers on an emotional level, and keep their attention. Using compelling storytelling and a scalable platform like digital video empowers organizations to make more of an impact than, for example, a one-time presentation.”

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
